Chy’Na is currently completing her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature & Cultural Studies (Cultural Studies Track) at the University of Arkansas, with an expected graduation date of Spring 2027. Her academic work lies at the cutting edge of technology, pedagogy, and culture. She explores how immersive tools such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence influence our understanding of cultural narratives, misinformation, and learning design.
As a scholar, she brings a critical lens to the ethical dimensions of digital technology. Her dissertation research focuses on interactive design models in XR and AI—investigating how immersive storytelling shapes both individual identity and collective memory. Chy’Na’s research is deeply interdisciplinary, drawing from performance theory, media studies, and critical digital pedagogy.
She is also affiliated with the LR9: Black Immersive Narratives Lab and serves as a researcher and community liaison for the University of Arkansas’ World Languages & Digital Humanities Studio. These roles allow her to create and prototype culturally grounded, immersive learning environments that bridge academic theory with real-world applications.
